A Mass in Motion
On Sunday, my husband and I were traveling in our vehicle. I heard the Holy Spirit speak this to me, “When your focus is on the negativity from the media daily, the momentum of fear builds that cause you to panic. When you spend time with me, the momentum of my WORD builds which brings you into my peace.
Momentum means a mass in motion! When we spend time with God, His Word becomes a mass in motion! However, if we spend our time listening to all of the negativity…fear becomes a mass in motion!
We all have a choice! Yes, we need to be aware of what is going on around us. But… we also need to be aware of God’s presence surrounding us!
Where is your focus? Is it on circumstances around you or on your God surrounding you?
Surround means to enclose on all sides; encompass
Around… means here and there; in any or every direction.
I am reminded of when my son used to throw his clothing around in his bedroom. They were in all different places, however; when I looked at some places in his room things were not in disarray.
Your God has surrounded you on every side. There is no crack in His love for you! You can’t earn or buy His love no matter what you do, or don’t do! Or what you did or didn’t do!
Psalm 5:12 says, “For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).”
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. (Psalm 32:7)
We all know that hurricane Sandy, a mass in motion, was predicted to come on land in New Jersey and work its way up into Pa. Fred and I pleaded the blood of Jesus over our property and loved ones and their property! We prepared for the worst but believed the best in our God! We knew that God was surrounding us with His peace and love. Now we would wait to see God show Himself strong in taking care of His children through this storm!
That morning I walked downstairs to our family room. I noticed something had fallen on the floor. It was one of my very delicate figurines. I picked it up thinking, “Oh! No! What is broken on this?” Would you believe the figurine fell off my shelf and didn’t break! Not one piece was missing! I looked at this delicate figurine that should have broken and realized how God was speaking to me about the storms in my life. He had everything under control!
I have been asking God to show Himself bigger than I could think or imagine. That day as I saw Him Bigger…I trusted in Him greater that helped me take my eyes off the storms in my life!
I saw a Bigger God that loved me… Bigger than I could ever think or imagine. He was protecting my heart and mind from the negativity as he protected the figurine from breaking!
When we go through storms in our life we are tempted to think that God doesn’t love us or God is angry with us! I used to see God as a demanding drill sergeant with a clip board keeping a record of all of my sins! Then one day I heard the Holy Spirit speak this to me. “What kind of a God do you think I am?” For many years I knew Him as a Bible God but not a personal God!
I taught Sunday school, church camps and attended church three times a week. However, I had an unhealthy fear of him! There was no awe of Him!
So…do you see God greater than all your problems and greater than all your fears? He is greater than anything you will ever face. Many of us have friends and family in these devastated areas. Our prayers go out to our brothers and sisters that are suffering. May God wrap His loving arms around you and surround you with His peace. May God become Bigger than you could ever think or imagine and bring you comfort in this time of your great loss! May you know that God is by your side and feel His deep and tender love surrounding you every moment of every day! God loves you and so do we!
